This Is Not a Court or Government Office. Jackson County Court Docket is privately operated. It cannot retrieve records, alter or reset dates, remove or seal cases, issue certified copies, accept filings, or give legal advice.
Need an Official Docket or Record?
Route each request to the office that maintains the information:
- A docket sheet: run a case lookup in Indiana MyCase, or request the CCS from the Jackson County Clerk
- A hearing date: check Jackson County court dates, then confirm the latest setting with the assigned court
- A certified copy: order it from the clerk counter for the court shown in the cause number
- A particular case: search by party name or cause number and note whether the prefix is 36C01, 36D01, or 36D02
- A case file: follow the court record request route; transcripts and recordings go to the court reporter
The primary public counter is the Jackson County Clerk, Hope S. Cissna, at 109 S. Sugar Street, Suite 130, Brownstown, Indiana 47220. The state court directory lists 812-358-6117. The official county clerk page lists 812-358-6118. Because both numbers appear in official sources, callers should verify which line best fits the request. Public hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays and posted closures.
Separate counters handle different work. Superior I is the route for traffic, small claims, and ordinary civil actions. Superior II handles divorce, legal separation, protective orders, juvenile matters, and adoptions. Circuit staff handle new filings, bonds, support payments, and assigned matters. Include the court code and cause number when calling or writing.
